ABSTRACT
Long Term Evolution (LTE) is the famous project name of an excellent performance for cellular telephones. The LTE specifications have been finalized as Release 8 in 3GPP [2]. Then the specifications on LTE-Advanced [3] were initiated as Release 10 and beyond. Recently, small cell deployment has received a lot of attention from 3GPP.The continuing deployment of macro BS will lead to increased inter-cell interferences and reduced cell capacity. Therefore, 3GPP TR 36.932 [4] has proposed new Small Cell Enhancement (SCE) scenarios. Considering that the channel quality can be quite high and stable in these scenarios, especially the indoor scenario, higher order modulation, ie 256 QAM can be beneficial in the evaluated small cell scenarios with low mobility.
