ABSTRACT

The traditional acoustic target of the shot position request that the ballistic trajectory should plumb the target surface. Based on aerodynamic theory and the characteristics of the Shockwave around a supersonic projectile, the influence of the oblique shot on localization precision is analyzed, and then a circular array is designed to revise the error brought by the oblique shot. The influence of the oblique shot to localization precision is necessary to be considered in practice. The effect brought by oblique incident should be taken into account when the ballistic trajectory is used in positioning the impact point coordinates. In the condition of oblique shot, the produced error in positioning accuracy should be corrected when the traditional planar transducer array is utilized. The effect of oblique incidence on positioning accuracy based on time delay should be considered. A new sensor array is designed for correcting positioning error produced by oblique incidence, in which a circular and homogeneously arranged array is used.
