ABSTRACT

This chapter is based on dynamic weighing mass method, a shipboard weighing method was proposed to resolve the problem that shipboard weighing is inaccurate due to ship sway. It discusses practical method named as acceleration-calibrating method. In the method, a weight was employed to calibrate the acceleration of ship sway and filter it during weighing to remove the effect of ship sway so as to increase weighing measurement precision, and finally the weight data was dealt with weighted moving average filtering method. Weighing on ship belongs the dynamic weighing. It is very difficult to do weighing on ship for ship sway, and it is more difficult to guarantee the accuracy of weighing. W. Balachandran researched dynamic weight sorting machine with the theory and method of fuzzy controllers. To resolve the inaccuracy problem in shipboard weighing due to ship sway, a calibration weight can be used to calibrate the acceleration caused by ship sway and filter the influence on weighing measurement.
