ABSTRACT

Forced swimming test. After the final oral administration of GRb1, the mice were allowed to rest for 30 min. Then, eight mice were taken out from each group for the forced swimming test. The procedure used was described previously [6]. The forced swimming test was carried out in an acrylic plastic tanks (50 × 50 × 40 cm), filled with water to a depth of 30 cm and maintained at a temperature of 25 ± 1 °C. The mice had a load attached (6% body weight) to their tails to reduce the swimming time. Exhaustion was determined by observing loss of coordinated movements and failure to return to the surface within 10 s.
