Compared with plain conductor of same crosssection area, the expanded-diameter conductor’s diameter is bigger and the electrical performance is better [1-2]. On the premise to meet transmission capacity and project requirement, the application of expanded-diameter conductor will decrease the tower load and structure gravity. However, the diameter’s expanding will cause the conductor gap increase. And after the construction pay-off, the strand jumping phenomenon becomes a restraining factor in conductor application. In this paper, four types of expanded-diameter conductor [3-4] have been designed and the experimental research on structure stability [5-8] of expanded-diameter conductor after payoff has been carried out.
