ABSTRACT

The aircraft engine has much complicated shaft parts, which are the ultra-weak stiffness currently. The machining effect makes the finished surface of the part produce residual tensile stress and compressive stress. The residual tension will accelerate the fatigue invalidation of parts. On the other side, the residual compressive stress can improve the surface properties and extend the fatigue life of parts. It not only makes the elements produces surface hardening, but also can remove the surface defect caused by machining process and offset the harmful tensile stress.
