ABSTRACT

CA is particularly prone to natural hazards such as earthquakes, landslides (rockfalls, avalanches and mudflows), river flooding, catastrophic bursts from high mountain lakes. Seismic hazard historical is more destructive for this region because CA is one of the most seismically active regions in the world. In 20th century, almost in each of five

The dissolution of Soviet Union in 1991 became the cause of emergence of a set of problems in cross-border territories of the former Soviet republic. In modern contexts, all definitions of Central Asia (CA) include five republics from former Soviet Union: Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan. In 1991, the Soviet Union broke up and all five republics became independent countries with own political, economic ecological systems and the transborder problems arose. The uniform system of environmental monitoring, information and decision-making was broken up.
