ABSTRACT
ABSTRACT: In this paper, we studied the change rule of Tianjin coastal storm surges using the observed data, generated PMTC (Probable Maximum Tropical Cyclone) parameters based on the statistics of historical typhoon process data, and then calculated that the PMSS (Probable Maximum Storm Surge) is 3.60 m by applying ECOM (Estuarine Coastal Ocean Model). Risk assessment model is carried out to investigate the economic loss caused by storm surge under the conditions when different tidal level overlapped with PMSS.
