ABSTRACT

The meteorological disaster risk of crop is the uncertainty of crop yield loss resulting from various meteorological disasters; it mainly depends on the stability of disaster environment (S), hazard of disaster-causing factor (H), vulnerability of maize (V) and capability for disaster defense and resistance (C). In this system S indicates whether the crop background of the environment the disaster occurs is stable, which is the latent condition of risk. H emphasizes the occurrence and damage degree of disaster, which represents the direct objective condition of the hazard. V reflects the sensitivity and adaptability of a crop production system influenced by disaster-causing factors; this factor is the internal condition of the hazard. C reflects the defense capability of a crop production system against the main disasters.
