ABSTRACT

ABSTRACT: With global climate changing, meteorological disasters have an increasing influence on the civil aviation industry. Rainstorm is an important meteorological hazard, and it is important to comprehensively assess rainstorm risk for the civil aviation industry. This paper, by combining the traditional model of disaster risk assessment and the disaster system theory, carries out a risk assessment of rainstorm risk in the Chinese civil aviation system in summer. The results show that there is a higher risk in eastern and southern China, where both rainstorm probability and intensity, and air traffic volume are relatively higher. Among 174 civil airports in China, YAOQIANG Airport, SANYI Airport and several other airports, because of their high vulnerability and low disaster prevention and mitigation capacity, their rainstorm risk levels in summer are the highest.
