ABSTRACT

ABSTRACT: Using the remote sensing images in 2000, 2006 and 2010, this paper extracted the information of landscape structure of Nansha district in Guangzhou city. The ecological risk index was built based on landscape index, and the ecological risk and dynamic variation were qualitatively assessed the process of rapid urbanization of study area. The results indicated that the landscape structure of the study area changed greatly from 2000 to 2010, especially, during 2000 to 2006, the built-land was expanded rapidly and the farmland was reduced significantly. The indexes of separation and fragmentation of landscape were increased. During 2006 to 2010, the rate of change becomes slower relatively. The regional ecological risk was increased in 2000-2010. The ecological risk level is lowest in 2000, and there is a significant increase in 2006. The ecological risk in 2006 and 2010 was equal nearly. We found that the water bodies and the farmland made great contributions to regional ecological risk. The sharp reduction of farmland is the main factor affecting the regional ecological risk. The results can provide a scientific basis for land use and ecological planning.
