ABSTRACT

ABSTRACT: “Risks related to marine” are defined in this survey as scenarios in the future associated with some adverse incidents at sea. According to the cause of said adverse events, “marine risks” can be divided into natural factors, technological and liability factors, and social factors. This paper reviews recent research, mainly in China. Now, studies typically establish index systems, in which the weight of each index relies on historical data and expert experience. However, ocean data is notoriously difficult to obtain, which does affect the accuracy of risk assessment. Risk due to social factors is particularly difficult to ascertain. Novel approaches to risk assessment are urgently required. Internet of Intelligences which can collect more data, verify the results, and contribute to communicating risks will be an expectation method.
