ABSTRACT

Solid rocket motor (SRM) cladding structure is a multilayer adhesive structure, which is made of steel shell, insulation, cladding and propellant, and the bonding interface, which is the most vulnerable part of the adhesive structure. The multilayer adhesive structure is easy to produce adhesive quality problems in the SRM lifetime. There is a big acoustic impedance mismatch between the multilayer bonded structure and the rubber base material that has a very high acoustic attenuation, which cause nondestructive testing (NDT) of this kind of composite structure, which is still a problem.
