ABSTRACT

Many scholars have monitored the wear state for diesel engine. Zhou et al. (1998) used vibration signals from cylinder head to diagnosis the diesel engine fault caused from the wear of a piston cylinder liner and valve leakage without disassembly. Recently, Online visual Ferrography (OLVF), which was developed by Xi’an Jiaotong University, has been used for the real-time wear monitoring of the machine (Wu, T.H. et al. 2011). OLVF not only has been used to real-time monitor the wear condition of marine diesel engines and automotive engine (Wu, J.Y. et al. 2014; Sheng, C.X. et al. 2012.) but also has been used for the working condition reorganization for cylinder and piston ring (Cao W et al. 2014), which further help to predict the engine performance degradation trend.
