Crime analysts and ocers trained in crime analysis techniques can oer valuable assistance to criminal investigators. Most crime analysis techniques can be applied in an investigation to aid in the understanding of information; an analyst can help make sense of information already known to the investigator and can help the investigator in the search for new information. Crime analysis is another tool in the investigator’s arsenal.
