ABSTRACT
ABSTRACT: This paper presents an overview of the considerations affecting life-cycle costs for bridge bearings, with particular reference to selection of bearing type, design, fabrication, installation, inspection, maintenance and replacement. With an understanding of all these issues, bridge designers and owners will be well equipped to properly address the challenge of minimising bearing life-cycle costs.
