Introduction of uncertainty in complex event processing

In recent years, sensor-kind network devices have been deployed in many applications, such as environment monitoring [Broda et al. 2009], fraud detection [Schultz-Møller et al. 2009], RFID-based inventory management systems [Wang & Liu 2005], weather monitoring [Kurose et al. 2006]. These devices can generate a lot of raw data continually. Following the processing and analysis the raw data streams, continuously arriving events could be transformed into complex event streams which are rigidly matched against complex event pattern and outputted. We call this processing course Complex Event Processing, or CEP [Luckham 2001]. Several famous event processing systems for complex event matching have been proposed[Agrawal et al. 2008].
