ABSTRACT

Expert finding tasks have been tried to address in different ways in previous research, and it is important for making decisions of appointment and promotion. It has become increasingly important since the late 80’s. It is natural to assess the performance of an author by the quality and quantity of the author’s papers. Different bibliometric indicators such as gindex (Egghe 2006) and h-index (Hirsch 2005) are proposed, which is a subject of much controversy. To evaluate the quality of papers, citation count metrics are often used. These simple counting metrics have their own advantages that they are convenient to have a single number and easy to interpret. However, these methods do not consider the structure of network available.
