ABSTRACT

As the electric power system develops and grid management moves towards modernization and complexity, research on power system load forecasting has aroused wide concern. Correct power load forecasting allows proper scheduling of generator operation within the power grid to guarantee safe and stable grid operation, proper scheduling of generator maintenance to ensure normal production of the society and normal life of the public, determination of the capacity of new installed capacities and dispatching of the power grid to eectively reduce the power production cost and improve both the economic and social benefits[1]. As such, power system load forecasting has become an important topic of study in modern power system operation and management as well as an important area in modern electric power system sciences.
