ABSTRACT

Considerable advances in the diagnosis and management of cystic brosis (CF) have led to a much improved quality of life. e life expectancy for a child born with CF in 2000 is more than 50 years, and a recent study of attitudes to fertility issues among adults with CF found that 72% of women and 85% of men felt it was important to have children.1,2 Parenthood has, therefore, become the normal expectation, rather than an exception.
