ABSTRACT

Bronchoscopy in CF patients is not systematically dierent from procedures done in other patients in this age group; the principals of which have been summarized in a European Respiratory Society (ERS) Task Force report3 (Video 33.1). Mucosal biopsies can be obtained from the airways, have been shown to be safe, and do not add a signicant amount

of time to the procedure. e size of the biopsy obtained is limited, but sucient to provide snapshots of the mucosal structure and the distribution of invading inammatory cells. Data in infants are limited to date.
