ABSTRACT
In recent years, the local university especially attaches great importance to discipline competitions, cultivate students’ practical ability and innovative ability through the discipline competitions, promote the implementation of innovative education, inspire students’ individual participation, and have obtained certain achievements in the students’ innovative ability practice ability training. But there still exist some problems such as poor active participation consciousness of students, insufficient coordination of learning professional knowledge and the competition, lack of competition teachers and excellent students (Wang & Wang 2012). Aiming at these problems, combining with the characteristics of mechanical engineering in local university, this paper discusses some effective measures and specific methods to develop the innovative ability of students relied on the discipline competitions.
