ABSTRACT

Result of this method depends highly on the teacher and the content of class. The advantage of class teaching consists in its flexibility, and it is very suitable for classes requiring high logic such as higher mathematics and engineering mechanics. However, it is unlikely to be very proper for engineering classes requiring students to understand the inner structure of machines. So as to understand the structure of machines, at least assembly drawings are needed, and it is quite impossible to draw in class. Even with prepared pictures which are two-dimensional graphs, it is difficult for students to understand due to their limited graph reading abilities, let alone following the teacher to understand their working principles and outcome in different circumstances, as well as their positions and use for the entire machine. Hence, the existing problem is obvious, and it is for this reason that such teaching method is now gradually being replaced by advanced ones.
