ABSTRACT
From the review of the previous research related papers, there is a rare attempt to study the pragmatic distance strategies in non-English major’ English writings. More scarce is the contrastive analysis of the pragmatic distance strategies by two genders in English writings. In English writing, authors use different discourse types, various lexical and syntactic means, and the timely adjustment of pragmatic distance to communicate with readers. If the pragmatic distance is handled properly, the credibility and affinity of writings can be increased to ensure the effective communication between authors and readers.
