ABSTRACT

Nanoscience began in the last century when characterization

methods for observing the structure of nanomaterials were de-

veloped. One of the basic requirements in nanotechnology is the

manipulation and characterization of materials at the nanoscale.

While this is a fact, it is also true that nature itself, as a mechanism

of defense, has continuously produced nanomaterials even before

nanochemistry was known as a branch of chemistry. This chapter

tries to provide some insights for the study of nanochemistry. Those

interested in a better understanding of this thematics can read the

reviews mentioned in the listed literature about the synthesis and

characterization of nanomaterials.
