The adverse effects caused by human beings in the environment (such as the emissions of greenhouse gases-GHG, deforestation, air pollution, water and soil contamination and loss of biodiversity) and their economic, social, political and environmental consequences, indicate that the environmental degradation on a global scale is a reality, and, therefore, a paradigm shift related to the organization of productive activities is needed.
