ABSTRACT

As a convenient and ecient format, pipeline network based on transportation enables petroleum or natural gas to be transported to any places where it is needed. However, the pipeline leakage resulting from nature aging or intentional stealing can destroy the safety of network and its transportation. A couple of intelligent pipeline leakage detection methods based on dierent principles, including negative pressure wave, sound wave, and distributed optical fiber, have been developed and widely used. For all of them, a state monitoring network has to be built to keep collecting signal data from dierent measurement points and analyzing them for leakage positioning[8-14], which may overload especially when excess quantity of measurement data needs transmission and analysis. Therefore, it is necessary to develop new monitoring strategies, especially the intelligent algorithm with the concept of Compressive Sampling to achieve optimized performance with acceptable system cost.
