ABSTRACT

Frequency modulation (FM) has a long history of its application and is widely used in radio broadcast. To transmit stereo music, FM is improved by stereo multiplexing which carries both left-side and rightside audio channel content. With the digital world, Radio Data System (RDS) starts enabling FM to carry text information such as trac, weather, and radio station information which can be displayed on the end-user’s device interface [1]. Currently, the global brand mobile phones (Apple’s 5th iPod Nano, HTC, Sony Ericsson, Nokia, Motorola, and Samsung) and consumer mobile devices will have an integrated FM-RDS module [8]. The RDS is an add-on data transmission service with subcarrier and uses frequency from 87.5Mhz to 108 MHz. The goal of RDS is to increase the digital wireless application of system functionality. The RDS also oers a standard altering of Emergency Warning System (EWS) with this 9A group defined by RDS standard document. The special EWS RDS receivers can be alerted in the case of emergencies or disasters. This means fast and also cost-ecient warning for

the most people when dangers like tsunami waves, industry accidents with hazardous emissions etc. arise [6]. This proposal aims to solve two important issues: (1) How to deliver the real time emergency event information to the driver? and (2) How to get the trac flow information in time form dynamic trac block? In this paper, there are two basics: (1) RDS Network (RDS-NT) architecture (three hardware devices) and (2) RDS coding structure (three software protocols). In advance, this paper will claim to develop the new future application.
