ABSTRACT

When the sonar platform is moving, there are relative motions between the platform with dierent scattering units, and the relative speeds of dierent spatial cone angles are dierent [1-3]. So the Doppler frequency aliasing of the reverberation from dierent incident angles is dierent too. The dierence is shown by the frequency expansion of reverberation which is called the space-time coupling property. Most of the methods to describe the space-time characteristics of reverberation are based on the Klemm clutter model[4,5]. Klemm analyzed the relationship between scattering cells with array antenna. Then it is assumed that echoes phases obey uniform distribution and the amplitudes obey the Rayleigh distribution. Dierent phases are introduced to scattering echoes. This model to describe the space-time coupling characteristics of the clutter in airborne radar has been proven by many tests[6].
