ABSTRACT
The vast evolution of digital design techniques by means of new configurable logic blocks (CLBs) urged the computer design researcher to navigate through the digital arithmetic field, which plays an important role in the design of digital processors and embedded systems. Digital arithmetic encompasses the study of representations, algorithms for operations on numbers, implementations of arithmetic units in hardware and their use in general-purpose and application specific systems [1, 10].
