ABSTRACT

It is important to note that, in some cases, better stress-strain fittings are achieved if the BakerEricksen inequalities are neglected; however there is no mathematical guarantee that outside the strain range used to calibrate the model the material will not behave badly. When complex simulations take place, there can occur particular regions in which the material strains are higher than those for which its parameters were calibrated, and in these cases it is very important to assure that at least its mechanical behavior do not violate any law of physics.
