ABSTRACT

Tactile marking of flexible packaging, labels, bottle labels and tags made of shrinkable films is a new direction of counterfeit and falsification protection of food and goods intended for the people with weak eyesight. The tactile marks and pictograms in accordance with international standards for relief height and width have been receiving by local thermo-mechanical modification of polymer film structure before printing of informational

texts or images. It’s impossible to detect the tactile marks on blanks before heat setting on the packing, because they arise from the thermoshrinkage. The example of a tactile line-shaped mark is shown in the Fig. 13.1. The localized film bowing arises in the zone of thermomechanical polymer structure modification after the label shrinkage on the bottle.
