Mathematical models are an essential tool for conducting meaningful research in natural sciences. In almost all fields of science, mathematical models are used to formulate predictions and quantify experimental results in a precise and repeatable way. Models are constructed systematically, so that their functionality and predictive power can be rigorously verified.
