ABSTRACT

To illustrate the new proposed product design procedure using the Kansei-based creative association thinking, we choose a table horn as our target. The procedure can be divided into four parts, as shown in Figure 1. Part 1 is the collection and reduction of product samples in the marketplace. Part 2 is the Kansei engineering manipulation process concerning the selected samples of the table horn, which include the Kansei evaluation and the building of a proper relationship between product images and design elements. Part 3 is the loop-type associative thinking process which gives the birth of a new product prototype. Part 4 is the questionnaire survey to understand the ‘how-good’ element of our designed product using this new proposed procedure.
