ABSTRACT

Therefore, this case study analyzes the acquisition and application of slabtone materials for the existing slabstone houses in North Paiwan from the following tribes: Dailai, Fawan, Majia. After these tribes relocated their villages, they still continued to live in refurbished slabstone houses. This case study will include on-site investigations, understand the different stages of material acquisition, focus on the selection of new materials, explore the relationships between bearing walls, the use of local material resources, and construct a refurbishment model, which can be used as a future reference for North Paiwnese slabstone house preservation projects.
