ABSTRACT
The shortage of oil results in the use of biofuels becomes necessary. Ethanol was considered as the most potential biofuel by AVL [6]. With rich oxygen content and high octane number, it can reduce engine knocking caused by supercharging. The high volatilization character can cool down the combustion chamber, hence inhibits detonation and increases the volume efficiency. Besides, rich oxygen content in high air-fuel ratio does not produce smoke during the combustion. The booster system with biomass fuels can achieve better fuel consumption, emissions, anti-knocking and other advantages. However, different mixture ratios will affect the performance of the engine.
