ABSTRACT

Hemodialysis has been a common medical treatment for the people with chronic renal failure. The increasing dialysis population is a global phenomenon. According to the Taiwan public health report 2013, the record in the end of 2012 showed that there are 71,446 patients need to receive the hemodialysis treatment and the number keep increasing. Taiwan has been on the top of list regarding to dialysis prevalence and incidence rates since 2000 according to the international comparison from United States Renal Data System (USRDS). The high prevalence and incidence of dialysis have a great impact on dialysis patients, family, country, and national health insurance.
