ABSTRACT

The development of Taiwanese embroidery craft can be divided into five stages, listed below according to historical progress and cultural transitions: from the 17th Century to the Ming Zheng Era, the settlement by the Qing Government, Japanese rule, restoration of Taiwan, to the current transition period. In terms of influence level, however, after the Han people settled in Taiwan, their culture helped to lay the foundation for the industrial development of the Taiwanese embroidery industry and cultural heritage.
