A novel design of container is introduced in this paper. Its structure is a combination between vacuum container with phase change material (PCM) in order to significantly shorten the period in which temperature of the stored substance reaches its

1 INTRODUCTION

In domestic applications, containers are used for plenty of purposes, i.e., for segregating things from surroundings by means of their borders but in the same ambient atmospheric conditions or to keep things in a certain condition to help the contained things last longer and avoid effects of surrounding impacts. In storing purposes of hygienic substances such as food, drinking water, medicines, etc, the containers do not just need to be in a welldesigned shape but also satisfy some requirements of temperature, moisture, pressure, etc. The most frequently required condition is a good thermal insulation since there are many applications in which people use containers to store substances at a desired temperature condition. In temperature maintaining applications, for example in food & drinking industry, the need of having a container that can help maintain inside temperature at a specific value stably for a long time is necessary. High thermal resistance containers are required to keep the food or drinking at the best condition for their best quality. The most common structure of this kind of container is a multi-layer composition with one or more layer(s) of high thermal resistance material is inserted in the middle. In this group, a

desired value by absorbing fast the high temperature heat and utilize the absorbed heat to lengthen the time this value lasts. The proposed design incorporates a normal cylindrical vacuum container (commercial products of Sun Kung Company, Taiwan) inside which a PCM container with 4 different shapes is inserted. Fig. 2 illustrates the vacuum container and Fig. 3 illustrates the design.
