The greatest achievement in the development of cognitive science thus far is its mapping of the mind using electronic imaging of brain activities produced by the various brain-scanning techniques developed and utilized in neuroscience, such as Electroencephalogram (EEG), Magnetoencephalography (MEG), Positron Emission Tomography (PET), Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), and Near-Infrared Spectroscopy (NIRS).
