ABSTRACT

Frequency hopping (FH) communication is defined as the signal carrier is transmitted periodically. For the past few years, FH is widely used in the field of military communications (Yunbin Yan et al., 2011) for its prominent anti-multipath jamming, anti-jamming and anti-fading, and its high ability of improving the communication system anti-interception and antijamming. Whereas the electromagnetic environment is growing complex, electronic countermeasures (ECM) increase is diverse. There are various jamming methods to restrict the performance of FH communication. Some of the more major types of jamming are full-band jamming, partial-band jamming, single-tone jamming, multiple-tone jamming and tracking jamming (Zhenyu Na et al., 2009). In comparison with other jamming methods, partial-band jamming power is more concentrated, better fit actual jamming distribution. It is a principal threat to the regular FH communication, and it does more harm to the FH communication. Reference (Yi Zhang et al., 2010) reported that partial-band jamming has a strong impact on the synchronism of the FH communication, and as well increase the error rate. Consequently, the important issues of the FH communication is how to eectively control the partial-band jamming and improve the performance of the FH communication.
