ABSTRACT

The previous literature analysis the dierence of the immigrants’ education, experience and other characteristics on the wages of city residents, laying the foundation for the analysis of this study. In the city scale perspective, the immigrants Education and experience of immigrates residents pay dierentials in their wages and its mechanism, which is our contribution. We mainly test whether the entrance of migrant workers from dierent city sizes would reduce the local residents’ wages. How do dierences between foreign labor education and experience bring the impact on local public employment? It will aect their wage level? How much? For a long time, there is still a lack of empirical evidence that whether city expansion is conducive to the formation of the professional division of labor, improves the eciency of city overall production and improve labor wages, nor do research for dierent level of education and work experience to improve Return of the city expands. Research hypotheses are presented in this paper for the mega city: industrial agglomeration ability is strong, but the city bears big pressure, and complementary eect and substitution eect exists at the same time. The big city (capital city) industrial agglomeration ability is big and bears less pressure, and migrant workers and local residents complementary eect are stronger than the substitution eect. Small and medium-sized city bears

less pressure, but industrial agglomeration ability is weak and the substitution eect between migrant workers and local residents is stronger than the complementary eect.
