ABSTRACT
With the development of astrophysics and high power laser pulse, a large-scale diffraction grating is more and more important [1]. But, it’s difficult to get it by rule grating machine or holographic method [2,3,4]. Grating tiling is through two or more small grating to compose a large grating. By the way of mechanical adjustment, the offset between them can be small enough. So it can be used as a large grating. Fig. 1 shows the tiling process, the static grating in the middle stay a fixed position, then rotate or translate the gratings in both sides. It’s need to stay a high adjustment precision during the whole tiling process. So an actuator with nano-positioning precision is needed.
