ABSTRACT
In the design circles, parametric design has become more and more popular with the application in SOM, UN Studio, GMP, Foster + Partners and other international well-known design companies, of which Zaha Hadid Architects is the most typical example. As a partner and chief architect of the firm, Patrik Schumacher is also one of the co-teaching directors of the Design Research Lab, which he established and has become the cradle of the Parametricism. [1-2]Arup Advanced Geometry Unit was founded by Cecil Balmond in 2000, and the designers include architects, engineers and scientists. Balmond applied the concept “Structure is architecture” into his multiple design works. In the book named “Informal”, Balmond put forward a series of mathematical and physical definitions related to structure and proposed relevant spatial composition and organization[3].
