ABSTRACT

This study is particularly timely since waste plastics and water crisis are shifting from one of problem-framing to new agenda that is much more concerned with climate impacts. The world is pushing the planet away from sustainability, according to materially intensive economies. Many disposable products make life possible for a faster and convenient pace of society eventually translate to consumer wastes. Polyethylene terephthalate (PET)-bottled water has become one of the most common plastic products to be consumed and disposed of, on a regular basis, both at and away from home [1, 2]. This actually causes a profound impact on environment and human health as more bottles mean more greenhouse gases from production, transportation, and waste bottles management. The adverse impacts are compounding a framework to justify as to how the businesses respond to the environmental issues at the early stage of creating a product.
