In particular, such analysis underlined the importance to carry out direct calculations to have a deeper understanding on propeller scantling requirements. These direct calculations may in fact overcome some of the lacks in a few of the current class rules. In order to have a better insight, the different approaches have been verified considering as a test case one of the two previously mentioned propellers; a possible artificial modification of one important parameter in propeller design, i.e. the shaft inclination, was investigated.
