ABSTRACT
Starting with 1960’s, appeared concerns related to pollution due to disastrous accidents which involved super tankers, like grounding of Torrey Canyon near Cornwall, UK, breakage of Amoco Cadiz in 1978 in Brittany, France and grounding of Exxon Valdez in 1989 in Alaska, USA.
