Resistance and propulsion Hydrodynamic performance of an autonomous underwater vehicle with a swivel tail

The true challenge in the development of the AUVs today is to make a single unit more diverse in its ability to perform as multitasking vehicle as well as combining different propulsion systems for different tasks. The AUV designed and built at “Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Naval Architecture” (FESB) at University of Split is an attempt to produce reliable, cheap and durable hybrid AUV capable of conducting diverse tasks, thanks to its modular design and redundant propulsion system.
