ABSTRACT
The physical problem consists of wave maker producing a wave investing the circular cylinder set at a fixed depth from the free surface. Figure 1 gives a schematic representation of the problem with relevant symbols. A Cartesian frame of reference O y( )x is here used with x-axis placed at the still free surface and the y-axis is upwardly oriented. The origin O is placed in correspondence of the longitudinal position of the cylinder axis.
