ABSTRACT

Despite clearness of way restrictions, in soviet period the design assessment for restricted sailing region vessels was similar to standard (marine) scheme of main particulars defining. In (Vitsinsky & Strakhov 1970) main particulars of the inland vessels were defined from the weights equation, when vessel’s length, breadth and depth (L, B, D) are functions of the deadweight Dwt and speed VS; the same time draught value d may be set as permanent restriction. In (Dormydontov et al. 1974) it was introduced to carry out displacement Δ assessment using utilization coefficients and from simultaneously solving of weights and power equations; further one was able to define main particulars and block coefficients.
